The company Transcend Information announced Memory Load-Reduced DIMM (LRDIMM) DDR3L 32GB.Modules of this type are used in servers. They are equipped with a special buffer that reduces the load on the memory bus, which increases the amount of memory to improve system performance and reduce its power consumption.
In conventional RDIMM modules DRAM memory chips on the memory modules are directly connected to the data bus, loading it, so that the rate of decrease with the increasing amount of memory. The modules DDR3 LRDIMM shared buffer memory chips and a bus, so that the load on the bus is limited. This makes it possible to increase the number of modules that can be connected to each channel of the memory controller and the memory capacity of the system without sacrificing speed.
According to Transcend, new modules can be, for example, to fill the 24 slots on the motherboard Intel S2600 family with two processors Intel Xeon E5 2600, receiving a total storage capacity 768 GB. This one and a half times more than the modules allow RDIMM (512 GB), and six times more than the modules allow UDIMM (128 GB).
Modules DDR3L LRDIMM TS4GKB72W3P calculated at 1333 MHz and equipped with a temperature sensor. They are covered by a lifetime warranty.
