SilverStone has developed its own version of the case for Intel NUC

After the announcement of compact computer Intel NUC many companies embarked on the development of its own housing for it, as a rule - providing better heat dissipation. Such products are already in the range of AbeeLian Li , Tranquil PC and even Gigabyte , and now own vision of what should be a housing NUC, presented SilverStone. Public demonstration of the development, which received the designation PT14, was held at the recently concluded exhibition CeBIT 2013.

As with many third-party products, PT14 is made of metal, acting as a heat sink. The photo clearly shows that the heat sink and the processor is physically connected to the wall of the body, and for better CPU cooling provides even heat pipe.

SilverStone offers optional equip body 60-mm fan with PWM control. It is designed to blow the back of the card, which is SSD, and under it - Adapter Wi-Fi. It is due to overheating of the components in the last year broke a small scandal . Obviously, the circuit with passive cooling at the top and bottom of the active NUC can completely cooled so that no overheating problems did not arise, but the effectiveness of purely passive component remains to be tested.

According to the source, SilverStone PT14 increases the cost of a mini-computer only $ 50, which is tolerated in the event that the device will indeed be well cooled. Accurate data on when PT14 will be available, no, but there is speculation that it will be possible to buy it at the end of April.
