PC market this year will continue to decline, analysts IDC


According to estimates of IDC, the PC market in the fourth quarter of 2012 decreased by 8.3% ( preliminary estimate was equal to 6.4% ) compared to the fourth quarter of 2011. During the year the market declined by 3.7% (previously called the value 3.2%). The specialists of the research firm believed that the decline will continue in the current year, although it will be less significant.
According to the forecast published at IDC, the PC market in 2013 decreased by 1.3%. The main reasons for lack of interest in named Windows 8 and the growing popularity of tablets.
Analysts noted that 2012 was the year when it was first recorded decline in PC sales in emerging markets.While in 2013 there will be a re-growth, it will be small, in the range of 1%. In mature markets, 2013 will be the third consecutive year of decline in sales.
By 2017, the global PC market growth will resume, but too little. As seen in the picture, this will happen through an increase in the supply of portable PCs in emerging markets. The illustration in blue and orange colors shown delivery of desktop and mobile PCs in mature markets, red and green - in developing countries.
