Xeon 3500 series processors and 3600 for single-processor workstations leave range of Intel.
CPU Xeon 3500, submitted in March 2009 , are based on micro-architecture Nehalem, Xeon 3600 - microarchitecture Westmere, is the development of Nehalem. The special features of Xeon 3500 are the presence of the four cores, supporting Hyper-Threading Technology and Turbo Boost. In 3600 the number of core Xeon increased to six, the cache in the third level has a greater volume, and extended instruction set with support for AES. Both series are outdated compared with a series of Xeon E3-1200 v3, which is due out in the next quarter, so the decision to send them to a pension seems quite timely.
