HP revenue for the quarter was 28.4 billion dollars, a decrease compared to the previous year by 6%


The company HP January 31 ended the first quarter of 2013 fiscal year. Yesterday, the company released a report for the period. For three months the company managed a profit of $ 28.4 billion. This is 6% less than in the same period a year ago (4% when adjusted for currency). The profit for the year decreased by 16% - from 1.5 to 1.2 billion dollars.
Personal computer division showed a decrease in revenue of 8%, and in the corporate segment income decreased by 4%, while Consumer - 13%. Interestingly, the volume of shipments of desktop PCs in terms of quantity increased by 10%, while the notebook - fell by 14%.
Revenues printers decreased by 5%. Total shipments in quantitative terms, decreased by 11%, in the corporate sector - 6% in the consumer - by 13%.
Enterprise Group revenue for the year decreased by 4%. In doing so, Networking yielded 4% more income, Industry Standard Servers - down 3%, Business Critical Systems - down 24%, Storage - 13% smaller and Technology Services - 1% less than in the first quarter of fiscal 2012 year.
Revenue from services decreased by 7%.
Income from activities related to the software, decreased by 2%. Interestingly, a year ago, on the contrary, increased by 30%. Support in this area has brought HP by 11%, but the licensing - of 16%, services - 8% less.
Revenues from HP Financial Services HP for the year increased by 1%.
Important from the perspective of an indicator of cash flow: three months of activity brought HP 2,6 billion, which is 115% more than the year before. Today the company is a $ 13.1 billion cash.
